Lindsey Purcell Bursary

The CRSO's former Leader, Lindsey Purcell, sadly died of cancer at the young age of 55 in 2015, and her memory still inspires the orchestra and its ethos. Lindsey taught and guided generations of young Medway musicians, and was passionate about providing students with as many musical experiences and opportunities as possible. The bursary which the CRSO has set up in her name provides one string student under the age of 18 with a valuable opportunity to play in a full symphony orchestra. The bursary pays for a CRSO membership subscription for a year, funded by Mr Steve Garner and a legacy donated in memory of Lindsey.
